Living Among Mindless People

Kelantan lost the FA Cup football match against Negri Sembilan. Did it end there? By the aching sores of incessant diarrhea, the answer is NO! Kelantan’s moment of defeat was an ignition of both utter stupidity and mindless anarchy worthy of only a group of spoiled six-year-old boys.

So what happened after Negri Sembilan won? The goal keeper from the Kelantan team decided to demonstrate his so-called manliness by attacking the Negri Sembilan striker. A noble act indeed, for it inspired a horde of baboons to start wreaking havoc. In other words, a bunch of Kelantan fans among whom was a secondary school teacher (shame on you!), decided to go on a rampage, as if they were deprived of their rights as human beings. Apparently, they were just angry that their team lost. “Fans cannot act violently if their team had lost,” said Federal Police Chief Tan Sri Musa Hassan in Kuala Lumpur. Sore losers.

It was pretty chaotic. A couple of police officers were injured and an 18-year-old lost an eye during the riot. Some vehicles were damaged. Firecrackers were let loose as if the Malaysian government never came to be.

So fellow Malaysians, let us ask ourselves this question: are we still living among Neanderthals who never correlate with intelligence? An event such as this is evident enough that we are, unfortunately. It was only a game for Heaven’s sake! Food supply did not deplete, no earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 occurred, no genocide is happening (God Forbid). One team was defeated and “28” fans decided to behave like starving baboons (Reminds me of Zombies from the movie "28 Days Later". I must repeat that one of them was a secondary school teacher in his 30s who apparently, according to both The Star and News Straits Times, had the firecrackers.

FECES!!!!!!

  1. It is a sad day for Kelantanese. I happen to be a Kelantanese and I am disgusted by my fellow countrymen. I feel ashamed and embarassed that people from where I come from can do such a thing. They're better off looking for jobs and start a living the creating chaos. I happen to believe the Kelantanese have this adventurous nature where they are unafraid to try new things in business. Some of these kind of Kelantanese venture out from Kelantan to look for a living and happy to say that some have become successful. However, I also believe that when it comes to football, Kelantanese either fans or players, are the most emotional and act upon it. Its a sad day for Kelantanese....

  2. Just want to amend my sentences....where I've made a typing mistake."They're better off looking for jobs and start a living the creating chaos." It should have been 'They're better of looking jobs and start a living rather than creating chaos.'

  5. Lan, your first post was correct. It should be "They're better off..." instead of "of".

Oghe Kelate gilo. What can I say?

  6. Reminds me of one the games they had at Sultan Muhammad Stadium a long time ago. They were playing a friendly with Red Star Belgrade and losing 9-0 when they decided to observe Earth Hour and shut off the lights so that they could stop the game. Bunch of wackos.

But there were great times when Hashim Mustapha was playing and foreign players like Marco Kradjelic (sp?), Bhoonpop Praput (Thai). Those were the heydays. Bring them back!

  7. It is always sad to note that kelantanese somehow always feel they are special and superior and when situations arise like the one recently, instead of looking at themselves, they blame the whole world and react rather stupidly. Think they have too much time not doing anything....I remembered in the eighties when at a football match in kb, they lost a match to pahang (i think) and the kelantan team officials thought the referee was kayu and tried to beat him up. Go figure..

  9. XOXO...

Are you implying that what happened in Kelantan is a trivial matter, something that is just not important, an issue that can be ignored, etc?

Please clarify. However, I'd like to say something about this.

I purposefully used a rather harsh language (without the use of vulgarity), because what happened after the match between Kelatan and Negri Sembilan was clearly a childish incident. To have a group of people behaving dangerously to society over a game is a serious thing. To have a teacher encouraging raging fans to misbehave over a game is a very shameful thing, especially in a society where many of its citizens are supporting PAS. This boils down to one thing: lack of education. People are suffering in other parts of the world because of earthquakes, heavy floods, religious turmoil, governmental turmoil, etc. Then we have a bunch of people causing damages and injuries because of A GAME! Is it so trivial that we have no say about it? In the words of Edmund Burke, Irish Political Theorist and Philosopher, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Contrary to many beliefs, ignorance is not a bliss... it is a step closer toward demise.
